Read the article on the pregnant 9 year old girl. There are certain issues to be discussed.
1. Do you think it is right for students below the age of 16 to have BGR.
2. Are kids of rich people spoilt?
3. Can such things be prevented? If NO, why? If yes, how?
4. How do you feel if were are the girl......
5. What would you do if you are the girl's boyfriend?
6. What would you do if you are the girl's parents?

I am sure that you have also read the article on the pregnant 5 year old girl in Peru. How do you think this couyld have happened????

CME Task for 090207

Recently, a video was sent on YOUTUBE where 2 boys purposely asked for pork at a Muslim foodstall. The idea was to irritate the waiter and capture the whole thing on video so that they can post it on YouTube. This action has sparked anger among fellow Singaporeans who then posted their comments in the National newspapers as well as e-Forums.

You are to do the following tasks:
1) What are your views on the above issue with regards to racial harmony and the need to be sensitive about race and religion matters? (minimum 50 words)

2) What religious practices of the other religions that you find strange and would like to seek moe clarification? eg burning of papers in praying....(which religion practise this , Taoist/Buddhist???)

Multicultural Multireligious Singapore

Very few countries in the world are as unique as us. More importantly, we can show the world how we can live in harmony though there are diverse religious beliefs and cultural practices. This inter-religious/cultural tolerence cannot be taken for granted.
For this week's task, you are to do the following:
1. search the web for examples of fights/wars which broke out due to religious differences...give two examples
2. state at least 3 reasons why we must treat religious and racial issues with sensivity in Singapore....
